Ireland’s Newest Golf Competition – The Donadea Trophy

Knockanally Golf Club  launched The Donadea Trophy during their Easter Golf Festival in 2012. The competition format is Mixed Seniors (Over 50s) Scotch Foursomes. Entry is open to clubs in Leinster in teams of 8. Teams will compete on the day for the Trophy.

“We’re very excited about this competition” explains Competition Director Dominic Holmes. “As far as we can ascertain, this is the only regional Open Seniors ¬†Mixed Foursomes competition, and we are delighted to have the support of the GUI and ILGU in organising and running the event”. Plans are already underway to make The Donadea Trophy a national competition in 2015.

“We are also really fortunate to have the support of Chrysler at Agnelli Motor Park, Dublin for The Donadea Trophy. They have been more than helpful and supportive of the venture from the initial discussions and we look forward to working with them in the lead up to the event.”

With the competition date set for Tuesday 1st. July 2014, it is likely that spaces on the Open Competitions between now and the Trophy will be well attended, as competitors endeavour to gain vital local knowledge prior to the main event.
